The Art of Living Foundation delivers a wide range of humanitarian service projects in association with its sister organisation the International Association for Human Values (IAHV).
The IAHV is the world’s largest volunteer based non-profit organisation founded in Geneva in 1997. Initiatives implemented through the IAHV contribute to community empowerment and poverty alleviation. International service projects are current in Iraq, Iran, Afghanistan, India, Australia, Argentina, USA, UK, Kosovo, South Africa, Germany and Poland.
Initiatives adopt a holistic approach to social transformation under the 5-H Program - Health, Hygiene, Homes, Human Values and Harmony in Diversity. International programs include:
- 'Barefoot and Literacy' projects providing vocational and academic training for economic development, cultural and heritage awareness and education in hygiene, health and human values.
- 'Care for Children' program providing needy and disabled children with food, clothing, medical services and education.
- The ‘Dollar a Day’ program, a world wide initiative: For as little as a dollar a day per child, children from the rural areas around Bangalore are provided with free schooling, as well as basic necessities such as food, clean drinking water and clothing.
- A 'Non-Aggression Program’ dealing with violence and bullying in schools and helping children maintain a healthy self confidence.
- 'Disaster Relief' provides humanitarian aid to refugees in war torn areas and victims of trauma.
- 'Women's Empowerment' trains rural girls in income generating vocations, leadership and self-empowerment.
- 'Chemical Free Farming' assists poor farmers in obtain higher yields without harmful and expensive industrial chemicals.
